West Lakes Golf Club

We designed a full refurbishment of the members' changerooms and bistro at a historic Adelaide golf club, replacing dated facilities with a relaxed, contemporary fit-out.

C4 Architects modernised the members' changerooms at West Lakes Golf Club in suburban Adelaide, which had reached the end of their life and needed upgrading. The project covered a full redesign of both the men's and women's facilities, including wet area refurbishment, improved locker facilities and a bistro upgrade.

Design approach

C4 Architects chose Australian timbers as the primary material, bringing warmth and a sense of quality to both changerooms. Combined with clean lines, this created a relaxed, contemporary interior that was very much at home in a golf club setting.

Improving natural light and opening up previously compact spaces were central to the brief. C4 Architects transformed dated, enclosed rooms into welcoming environments, delivering a tangible improvement to the everyday member experience.

C4 Architects delivered complete wet area refurbishments across both facilities, bringing fixtures, finishes and services up to a modern standard. This substantially improved the daily experience for members and reduced the ongoing maintenance burden for the club.
